Vollot to drive business in MENA.

Philippe Vollot is the new chief operating officer of Deutsche Bank in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

He replaces Alexander Schuetz who vacates the role after five years to take the same position in the bank’s retail business.

Vollot will be based in Dubai reporting to Ashok Aram, Deutsche’s MENA chief executive, and Bill Woodley, its global chief operating officer for regional management.

Aram said Vollot’s appointment reinforces the bank’s commitment to the MENA region and that his experience will be central to expanding its operations in the region.

Vollot is not a new face at the bank with his previous roles including compliance chief in Europe, head of M&A legal in the UK and chief operating officer in France.

In his new capacity, Vollot will be a member of Deutsche’s MENA executive committee and will chair the region’s operating committee. He also oversees the bank’s infrastructure functions across all businesses and legal entities.
