Bank names new banking head.

HSBC Middle East has promoted Jody Sanderson to its head of global banking in Qatar.

Sanderson has been with the bank for some 13 years working in its North American and Asian divisions. He joined HSBC Qatar in 2009 to lead its client management group and will add client coverage, advisory and securities services to his responsibilities following his promotion.

Sanderson said developing and expanding its global banking franchise in Qatar is a priority for the bank. He added that HSBC has had a presence in Qatar for more than half a century and that he is excited to be leading a team operating in one of the Middle East’s fastest growing economies.

HSBC Qatar’s chief executive, Abdul Hakeem Mostafawi, said that Sanderson is a clear asset to the team due to his experience.
