CEO and COO to lead emerging market business.

Nomura, a Japanese investment bank, has named the two senior managers who will lead its operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

John Phizackerley will be the division’s new chief executive when he leaves his current position of joint chief administrative officer of the bank’s wholesale business, while Yasuo Kashiwagi will become chief operating officer.

These moves are part of a series of managerial changes at Nomura designed to expand its operations globally.

Phizackerley succeeds Tarun Jotwani following his promotion to executive vice-president and head of global markets.

Kashiwagi, who is currently senior managing director in charge of financial instruments and services within Nomura’s retail division, will take the role in April.
