Boutron gets Middle East role

Société Générale Private Banking names new investment head.

Société Générale has appointed Philippe Boutron as regional chief investment officer for its private banking operation in the Middle East.

Boutron will be responsible for developing and managing investment products and services for the bank’s Middle East clients. He will also chair its local asset allocation committee.

He reports to Eddy Abramo, chief executive of Société Générale Private Banking Middle East.

Boutron joined Société Générale’s retail banking division in 1993 before becoming a portfolio manager within its asset management business. In 2005 he joined the bank’s private banking division, becoming head of investment strategy two years later.

Société Générale Private Banking has been active in the Middle East since 2006 and today has offices in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Bahrain.
