HSBC strengthens Qatari business

Alghalib to expand private banking business.

HSBC has appointed Talal Alghalib as its head of private banking in Qatar.

Alghalib, who joins from Gulf Finance in Bahrain, will expand the bank’s private business in Qatar.

Abdul Hakeem Mostafawi, HSBC’s chief executive in Qatar, said the country is a priority market for HSBC and this appointment is part of this growth strategy.

Alghalib spent nine years at Gulf Finance leading a team of relationship managers covering Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Qatar.

He started his career at Citibank, where he was trading interest rate derivatives for four years. He has also once had a seat on the board of Khaleeji Commercial Bank in Bahrain.
