Law firm hires Ernst & Young’s David Robinson.

Law firm Herbert Smith has named David Robinson as its new global chief operating officer.

He will replace John Mullins, who is due to retire at the end of the current financial year.

Robinson spent the past 20 years as a partner at accountancy firm Ernst & Young, latterly as chief operating officer for its operations across Northern Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa.

He will report to managing partner David Willis and be responsible for managing and directing the firm’s business services functions.
