Valletta names new CEO

Charles Borg replaces retiring Tonio Depasquale.

Bank of Valletta has appointed Charles Borg as its chief executive.

He succeeds Tonio Depasquale who has retired following the bank’s annual general meeting.

Borg has held several senior executive positions since joining the Maltese bank in 1981 and steps up from his current position of chief officer responsible for financial markets and investments.

He has been replaced by Romeo Cutajar, the bank’s executive head in the financial markets and investments unit.

Borg’s promotion is subject to regulatory approval.
