Bahrain bank announces new CEO and deputies for European subsidiary.
Bahrain’s Arab Banking Corporation has made several new hires in the management team of ABC International Bank, its London-based European business.
Following the retirement of Nofal Barbar, deputy chief executive William Playle has been named CEO. A former Barclays manager, Playle has worked at ABCIB since May 2002.
Paul Jennings and Alexander Ashton have been appointed as joint deputy CEOs. Jennings will remain the bank’s head of global trade finance. Ashton has been promoted from general manager of the bank’s Paris office.
