French bank appoints Sabet to focus on retail businesses in CEE, Turkey and Asia.
BNP Paribas has named Jean-Paul Sabet deputy head of its international retail banking division, which focuses on its businesses in Central & Eastern Europe, Turkey and Asia.
Between 2008 and 2010, Sabet served as chief operating officer of Banca Nazionale del Lavoro (BNL), an Italian bank bought by BNP Paribas in 2006 that Sabet helped to integrate with the group.
He had previously been a member of the executive committee of the group's French retail banking business from 2003 to 2006, in charge of finance and strategy.
Sabet reports directly to Stefaan Decraene, head of the division.
