Mackenzie to be new Middle East and Africa iShares head.

US investment manager BlackRock has appointed Andrew Mackenzie managing director and head of iShares Middle East and Africa. It is a newly created role, focused on increasing sales for iShares, a family of exchange-traded funds, in the region.

Mackenzie has been involved in the sector for two decades and has advised a number of institutional investors, central banks and sovereign wealth funds in the Middle East and Africa. He will report to head of EMEA iShares sales, Leen Meijaard, as well as the head of MEA, Nick Anderson, and the head of Global Official Institutions Group, Terry Keeley.
