Russian telco issues in dollars and roubles, with record low coupons.

VimpelCom, a Russian telecoms company with businesses across the CIS, has raised US$2bn through eurobonds.

The company hired Barclays, Citi, ING and Royal Bank of Scotland to run an issuance comprising six-year 5.20% notes worth US$600mn, 10-year 5.95% notes worth US$1bn and a five-year rouble tranche worth RUB12bn with a yield of 9.0%.

The coupons on the dollar notes were the lowest VimpelCom has achieved, while the local-currency tranche is the first rouble eurobond by a non-financial services or non-state-owned company, note lawyers at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, which advised VimpelCom.
