South Africa's central bank deputy steps down

Renosi Mokate will not renew contract next month.

The deputy governor of the South African Reserve Bank, the country’s central bank, is to step down.

The bank has confirmed that when Dr Renosi Mokate’s five-year term of office ends on July 31, she will not renew the contract.

In a statement, the bank said that its president will advise the bank as to who he will appoint as the next deputy governor.
