Jordan Dubai Islamic Bank boosts shariah committee

Jordan Dubai Islamic Bank (JDIB) has appointed Hussain Hamed Hassan as chairman of its shariah and legitimacy control committee. Ali Al Swa and Ahmed Melham were also appointed to the committee as members.

Hassan has many years of experience in Islamic finance, and held positions as chairman for the shariah and legitimacy control committee at several Islamic financial institutions in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Sudan, Algeria, UK, Pakistan and elsewhere.

Hassan has extensive experience in the field of Islamic finance acquired over the past 50 years, during which time he worked as a legal and economic consultant for several countries as well as Islamic organisations. He has also followed an academic career at Cairo University.
