New emerging markets research division at BAML

Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s global research division has formed a new combined economics and fixed income strategy group for emerging Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

David Hauner, currently the bank’s head of emerging EMEA economics, will lead the new team, which has also announced three new hires.

Arko Sen has joined as its emerging EMEA fixed income and FX strategist. He previously worked for Barclays Capital, Dresdner Kleinwort and Lehman Brothers. Ivan Tchakarov has been appointed chief Russia economist, joining from Nomura. Jean-Michel Saliba, a former JP Morgan economist, has been hired as Middle East and North Africa economist.
