Bank hires Emmet from RBS to become M&A head for Middle East and North Africa.
Standard Chartered has named Tom Emmet as head of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
Emmet joins the bank from Royal Bank of Scotland, where he was head of corporate finance and equity capital markets for the Middle East and Africa. He replaces Apoorva Shah, who has left Standard Chartered.
Emmet will work in the bank’s regional headquarters in the Dubai International Financial Centre and will report to Andrew Suckling, global head of M&A, and Daniel Azzi, regional head of global markets and co-head of wholesale banking for MENA and Pakistan.
