South African logistics company names new treasurer to oversee funding strategy.
Transnet, South Africa’s state-owned transport and logistics company, has named Mathane Makgatho as group treasurer, responsible for its funding strategy.
Chief financial officer Anoj Singh had been acting as group treasurer since February when Disebo Moephuli, previously group treasurer, was promoted to chief risk officer.
The company was last in the international markets in July 2012, when it issued a ZAR8.3bn (US$1bn) 10-year bond, the largest amount it has tapped the market for without a state guarantee and its longest tenor in the international markets. That deal was eight times oversubscribed.
